Scott Brockman Memorial Scholarship
Scott Carl Brockman was a Battle Creek Central High School graduate. He then attended KCC and received an Associate Degree in Applied Science in Nursing. He continued his education at Spring Arbor University, earning a Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing. Scott was employed with Community Hospital and Bronson Battle Creek for 34 years. He married Lori Carus in 1988 and was a loving father to Chris and Samantha; a loving step-father to Shaun and Shannon; and a grandfather.
Scott enjoyed camping at local and state parks, playing Bass Guitar in a rock band, and reading. More than anything he loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.
Scott is remembered by his friends and colleagues for his calm, professional and compassionate presence. He was an amazing nurse and a kind, thoughtful man of integrity. For thousands of patients in the Battle Creek community, Scott has left a legacy that cannot be measured.
Impact
Dr. Debra Buck, faculty in the Nursing Department at KCC, established this scholarship in Scott’s name. Scott was a wonderful person and friend. She hopes this scholarship can help attract more men to the field of nursing, while also keeping Scott’s memory alive.
