Impact
The Guido A. and Elizabeth H. Binda Foundation and the Miller Foundation, both generous, long-time local funders focused on improving educational opportunities and the quality of life in our community, made grants in the amount of $25,000 each to the KCC Foundation. Thanks to this generous funding, the KCC Foundation qualified for a double matching grant of $100,000 from the Hites Family Community College Scholarship Foundation, establishing a $150,000 Robert F. Hites Family Endowment for High-Achieving Baccalaureate Transfer Students.
Mr. Hites established the Hites Family Community College Scholarship Foundation in 1990. Through his generosity, academically high-achieving students have the opportunity to pursue their last two years of week toward baccalaureate degrees. The Hites Family Higher Education College Grant funds allows KCC to offer additional transfer funding to its highest-achieving student leaders based on their scholastic achievements at KCC (not their high school performance.)
