John G. Lane Industrial Electronics Memorial Scholarship
John Lane was born, raised and lived his whole life in Battle Creek. After graduating from Battle Creek Central High School in 1972, John attended Kellogg Community College for two years. There, he received an Associates in Applied Science in Electronics Technology/Industrial Electronics in May of 1974.
While attending KCC and working in the audio visual department, John met Lois. She was working in the library while taking classes at KCC. John and Lois were married in 1978.
John worked for Eaton Corporation from 1974 to 1982. While at Eaton, John was a technician who worked in the lab developing and running tests. He was known for his instrumentation and manufacturing of circuit boards, using these skills to collect data.
John spent the next twenty years working for the Kellogg Company. While working at Kellogg, he received an Associate in Applied Industrial Electricity/Electronics in 1997 from the Regional Manufacturing Technology Center.
John always thought of others before himself. He always had a project going with a friend. He was able to fix anything and did just that! He spent his life dedicate to helping his family and friends.

This scholarship was set up to help students who, like John, are interested in industrial electronics, electronic technology or electricity.
