Cereal City Sunrise Rotary - September 11th Memorial Scholarship
The Cereal City Sunrise Rotary Club of Battle Creek was originally chartered as the Fort Custer Rotary Club in May of 1992. The name was later changed to the Cereal City Sunrise Rotary Club to attract a broader base of members.
The club celebrated their centennial in 2015. Their main objective is service – in the community, in the workplace and around the globe.
Impact
When the attacks of September 11, 2001 occurred in New York, members had many discussions about what to do. The club brainstormed ideas, but the best one was local. This scholarship fund was established to help students pursuing law enforcement, firefighting and emergency medical technology.
