Arthur J. and Lucille B. Finley Gold Key Scholarship

Arthur and Lucille Finley came to Battle Creek in the 1930’s to teach in the Battle Creek Public Schools. Arthur worked for the Kellogg Company for 42 years. Their daughter, Carole Edmonds, was a graduate of Kellogg Community College and worked for the college for 30 years prior to her retirement; she was the Dean of Arts and Sciences upon her retirement.

Carole was part of the original Gold Key Scholarship Committee at KCC and, through her involvement, her parents came to believe in the goals of the scholarship. They were lifelong supporters of higher education.

Impact

" My parents understood the importance of helping students to obtain higher education and wanted to leave a legacy for outstanding students coming to KCC," said daughter Carole Edmonds. The scholarship was established upon their passing by the Trustee of the Finley Family Trust.
